My name is Judy Weaver. I have
been researching our family for 7 years. I have experienced
many memorable moments in the process, like the time my husband and I climbed the
fence of the Cumberland Cemetery in Ohio to photograph Revolutionary Soldier,
George Brokaw's tombstone. And the time at the Allen County library in Ft.
Wayne, Indiana when I found "The Samuel Adams Family of Lawrence County,
IL." Everyone in the library knew that I hit pay dirt when I found a
picture of my mother, great, great-great, and
great-great-great-grandparents. These experiences continue today as I
continue to discover new branches of our family.
I am a member of the
Daughters of the American Revolution, The Daughters of 1812, The
Descendants of Early Quakers, The Daughters of Early American Witches,
The Daughters of Union Veterans, General Society of Mayflower
Descendants and numerous other organizations and First Families.
Having lived in Tennessee for six years, I was thrilled to learn I was a
descendant of John Wear through his daughter Jane Wear and Thomas
Lovelady. This made me eligible for "First Families of
Tennessee."
I have completed the Basic Genealogy
course provided by the National Genealogical Society and I have studied numerous
books on genealogy and compiling family histories. I am the Registrar for
my DAR Chapter and have helped compile numerous lineage society
applications. If you are interested in joining any of the lineage
societies listed, please feel free to contact me and I will help where I can.
