Alice T.L. Young was born 28 May 1850 in Andrew County, MO. Alice was the daughter of Thomas Lovelady (T.L.) Young and Eliza Ann Davis. Alice is listed on the 1850 U.S. Census when she was four months old. Thomas, Eliza and Alice were living in Savannah, Mo. Also enumerated with the Young family was 20 year old M.A. Davis. I believe this to be Martha Davis, Eliza's sister. Thomas' occupation was Physician. He died just two months later on Christmas Day, 1850. Thomas Young's father was Duke Young. Duke died in 1857. Alice was mentioned in Duke's probate file and received her father's portion of the estate.

Eliza and Alice and sister Martha removed to Ray County, MO before 1857 where they are listed on the 1860 U.S. Census. Eliza and Alice are enumerated with Charles Ford and his wife Martha, Eliza's sister. Alice was nine years old.

On 28 Dec 1871 Alice married Thomas Hayson, a coal miner. Thomas was born in Durham, England on 14 May 1849 and emigrated to America at the age of three years old. Thomas's father, Thomas Hayson, Sr. worked a coal mine in Ray County for many years.

Alice and Thomas Hayson had four children. Clara May, Lula, Frank Young and Stella M. Hayson. The family lived in Ray County, MO. Thomas and Alice removed to Kansas City, MO late in life where they both died and are buried in Elmwood Cemetery, Kansas City.

Clara May Hayson married Orestus Culbertson Crowley.  Clara and Orestus were the parents of Jewell Crowley.
