The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag I pledge allegiance to the flag of the
United States of America The original pledge was written by Francis Bellamy in 1892. In 1924 the National Flag Conference, with the direction of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the American Legion, changed the words to "the flag of the United States of America." In 1954 Congress added the words "under God."

Our family includes Patriots, Pilgrims, Puritans and Quakers. We have Preachers, Doctors, Judges, Farmers and Tradesmen. Ancestors that fed and healed our souls, and some who fed and healed our bodies. Our family members were, and still are, proud Americans. We fought in most of American Wars to preserve our freedom.
